Rome's Circus Maximus is planning to host a ski world cup on the City Tour, a relatively new event on the ski world cup circuit. It is a duel slalom event with top 16 men & women competing for points and prize money.

The idea is to take the skiing to the people and promote skiing in cities around Europe - this winter 1 in Moscow & 1 in Munich.

Currently the Circus Maximus is a grassy hill in central Rome but snow would be trucked in to make it a skiable slope.
